Islamic Jurisprudence, Psychology, Writing & Creative Works
Dedicated to scholarly research in classical and contemporary Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh & Usul al-Fiqh), interdisciplinary studies in human psychology, forthcoming monographs, reflective essays, and creative verse.
Islamic Jurisprudence & Legal Theory
Classical methodology, legal maxims (Qawa‘id Fiqhiyyah), objectives (Maqasid), and contemporary applied ethics.
My scholarly work in Islamic jurisprudence centers on the rigorous analytical frameworks of Usul al-Fiqh (principles and methodology of legal reasoning) and Maqasid al-Shariah (higher normative objectives of Islamic law). I approach jurisprudence not merely as a historical code of ordinances, but as a living, profoundly sophisticated intellectual epistemology rooted in textual hermeneutics, linguistic analysis, analogical reasoning (Qiyas), and public interest considerations (Maslahah).
A major focus of my inquiry is the application of classical juristic reasoning to modern dilemmas arising at the intersection of emerging technologies, data systems, and biomedical innovation. Drawing upon my dual expertise in algorithmic sciences and Islamic studies, I investigate the jurisprudential and moral accountability of autonomous systems, algorithmic bias as an ethical injury, privacy and data ownership as protected interests, and bioethical questions in genetic medicine and computational biology.
Methodological inquiry into classical sources of jurisprudence, evidentiary standards, linguistic signification, and comparative schools of jurisprudence (Madhahib).
Formulating ethical boundaries and jurisprudential rulings on artificial intelligence, clinical decision algorithms, algorithmic agency, and biological data preservation.
Preserving the core universal protections of faith, life, intellect, lineage, and property within modern socioeconomic systems and institutional governance.
Psychological Inquiries & Cognitive Studies
Cognitive ergonomics, human motivation, emotional regulation, and psychological well-being.
Alongside my technical and jurisprudential work, I maintain an active, passionate inquiry into human psychology, behavioral dynamics, and cognitive sciences. This interest originally emerged from my academic research in human-computer interaction (HCI), eye-tracking methodologies, and cognitive load assessment, but has since expanded into deeper reflections on the architecture of the human mind, internal motivation, and emotional resilience.
My psychological investigations explore how individuals navigate decision-making under uncertainty, build cognitive habits, cultivate mental clarity, and process moral responsibility. Furthermore, I am deeply intrigued by the dialogue between classical spiritual psychologies—particularly the traditions of character refinement (Tazkiyah) and introspective self-accounting (Muhasabah)—and contemporary positive psychology, cognitive-behavioral insights, and emotional intelligence.
Cognitive Ergonomics & Attention Dynamics
Understanding how visual environments, information overload, and cognitive bandwidth shape human attention, memory retention, and mental exhaustion.
Character, Virtue & Moral Psychology
Examining how moral conviction, spiritual discipline, and psychological resilience interact to foster emotional balance and ethical leadership.
Books & Forthcoming Monograph Projects
Long-form manuscript works, treatises, and intellectual projects currently in development.
I am currently actively drafting and outlining a sequence of book-length monographs that synthesize my research across computer science, Islamic jurisprudence, ethics, and psychology. These forthcoming projects are designed to provide accessible yet methodologically rigorous contributions to contemporary discourse.
Specific manuscript outlines, prospectus details, draft chapter summaries, and publication timelines will be posted on this page as they reach milestones.
Ethics, Artificial Intelligence & Islamic Legal Thought
A comprehensive examination of autonomous technologies, machine learning governance, and bioethical challenges viewed through the prism of Islamic legal theory and classical jurisprudence.
The Mind, Meaning & Moral Psychology
Exploring cognitive habits, internal motivation, mental clarity, and the synthesis between cognitive psychology and traditional spiritual self-refinement.
Essays on Faith, Science & Contemporary Society
Collected essays analyzing modern epistemologies, scientific naturalism, spiritual philosophy, and the role of faith in high-technology civil societies.
Additional book projects, monographs, chapter excerpts, and publisher announcements will be cataloged directly here as they develop.
Essays, Thought Leadership & Public Scholarship
Reflective writing on higher education, information science theory, AI governance, and cultural commentary.
Public intellectual discourse forms a bridge between specialized laboratory research and broader civic society. Through long-form essays, op-eds, and reflective articles, I examine the societal transformations wrought by artificial intelligence, the pedagogical mission of modern research universities, and the philosophy of information science.
My essays frequently engage with the human dimensions of technology—exploring how algorithms intersect with human dignity, ethical accountability, and educational equity.
Long-Form Articles on Medium
Follow @ebeid for essays on higher education, AI ethics, and information theory.
Interrogating algorithmic accountability, public health data privacy, machine learning bias, and the ethical responsibilities of software engineers.
Reflections on academic leadership, inclusive computer science pedagogy, undergraduate research pathways, and graduate student development.
Theoretical explorations into knowledge organization, Cairo’s historic institutional libraries, and the epistemology of data curation.
Poetry, Verse & Contemplative Literature
Spiritual devotion, existential reflection, and the beauty of classical and contemporary Arabic and English verse.
Poetry serves as a contemplative sanctuary and a medium of existential inquiry. Drawing inspiration from classical Arabic poetic traditions, spiritual hymnology, and contemporary reflective verse, my creative writing explores themes of spiritual yearning, transience, memory, cultural heritage, and the search for transcendent meaning amidst modern technological complexity.
Through both structured classical meters and free reflective verse in Arabic and English, these compositions examine the inner landscape of the soul, the dialogue between reason and faith, and the enduring beauty of contemplative silence.
Devotional & Metaphysical Verse
Contemplative meditations on divine grace, spiritual longing, sacred remembrance (Dhikr), and the quest for inner peace through sacred traditions.
Heritage, Memory & The Human Condition
Poetic inquiries exploring the passage of time, the nostalgia of ancient cities, cultural diaspora, and the quiet dignity of the human journey.
“Between the precision of the proof and the silence of the night, words become the sanctuary where intellect meets the soul.”
